HEL-Performance® 4-Piston Radial Brake Caliper (1 Pair), Smooth Back (INTRODUCTORY PRICE)

HEL Performance brake calipers are available with a MotoGP-inspired nickel coating. Each caliper is equipped with two pad retaining pins. To replace the brake pads, simply unscrew these pins briefly and swap out the pads. The calipers should be blown out with air before reinstallation to ensure that the internal surfaces are clean. Separate bleed nipples ensure that the bleed point is located at the highest possible point on the caliper. Our brake calipers also feature a complete, circumferential fluid path. This means that fluid flows in a complete loop through the brake caliper, making it easier to completely remove air from the system.

Our brake calipers weigh 715 grams (without pads) and are equipped with stainless steel pistons. Stainless steel acts as a heat sink, dissipating the heat generated by braking. The brake fluid heats up less. The boiling point of brake fluids varies depending on the specific fluid used. Storing the heat in the pistons rather than heating the fluid improves braking performance over a longer period—perfect for the track.

We manufacture our brake calipers exclusively on state-of-the-art CNC machines from solid 6082-T6 billet aluminum. Many mass-produced brake calipers are forged, but this limits their design possibilities. The forged parts must also be machined for threads and the internal flow path, as the forging process is unable to produce these details. We offer the very highest product quality. The finish is breathtaking, with every part manufactured to CNC precision. We maximize weight savings and minimize material consumption. The EP pad compound has ABE certification; the GPX pad compound is a pure racing compound without ABE certification. RBF 660 Factory Line, 0.5 liter

Manufacturer's specifications:

Fully synthetic polyglycol-based brake fluid.
For the most common types of racing brake systems (steel, carbon, or ceramic).

Dry boiling point: 328 °C
Wet boiling point: 204 °C

Standards: SAE J 1703, ISO 4925, FMVSS 116 DOT 4

Advantages:

• Miscible with all DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 polyglycol-based brake fluids; however, not recommended
• Extremely high dry boiling point of 328°C compared to other silicone- or polyglycol-based products, ensuring safe braking even under the most extreme operating conditions
• Very high wet boiling point of 205°C compared to other silicone- or polyglycol-based products, allowing for safe braking even in high humidity or during wet races
• Under racing conditions, brakes are subjected to extreme thermal stress; therefore, Motul RBF 660 should be checked at least after every second race and replaced as needed
• Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the ambient air, which lowers its boiling point. For this reason, Motul RBF 660 should only be stored under constant climatic conditions, carefully sealed in its original container

Warning: Do not mix with silicone-based brake fluids (DOT 5) or specialty fluids such as LHM. The fluid may damage the vehicle’s paint.

HEL-Performance® Clutch Fitting, with a flip lever! ( The image does not show the flip lever)

The assembly is designed to visually match HEL Performance’s radial brake master cylinders.
On vehicles with mechanical clutch actuation (via Bowden cable), this allows for a visually uniform appearance on both sides.
It is often difficult to find a matching lever assembly for both sides.

Both the housing and the lever are milled from solid material at HEL Performance in Exeter (UK) using brand-new CNC machining centers.

A folding lever will be available as an accessory.

HEL-Performance® Combined Rear Brake Pump, 13mm Piston Diameter!

The combination brake pump for the rear wheel was developed so that a pump on the handlebars (whether thumb brake or pull brake) can be used in conjunction with the foot brake for the rear wheel. This is often required by the rules. In such cases, the foot brake must remain in place. However, an additional hand-operated brake pump is permitted.

The new combination brake pump has two connections:
            A) M12x1.00 thread for the handlebar-mounted pump (e.g., thumb brake pump)
            B) M10x1.00 thread for the line leading to the rear brake caliper

So how does it work?
Quite simply, the pump on the handlebars can be operated as long as the combined brake pump is not pressed.
The pressure is routed directly through the combination brake pump to the rear brake caliper.

However, when the handlebar pump is pressed, the combined brake pump can also be actuated.
In principle, the two pumps are arranged in series.

If the combined brake pump is pressed, you can press the handlebar pump as much as you want. Nothing happens because the inlet (M12x1.00) is “sealed off” by the piston in the combined brake pump.

• The TB-1 is both tricky and ingenious.
• The many adjustment options should leave nothing to be desired in terms of customization.
• The clamp is aligned in the desired position and attached to the fork.
  (NOTE: The clamp does not have a joint as shown, but is a one-piece clamp.
  The fork or triple clamp must be loosened accordingly for installation).
• The lever distance can be conveniently adjusted at any time as with the radial brake pump (adjustment wheel)
• The lever has a joint that can be used to position the end of the lever higher or lower.
• In addition, the end of the lever is in two parts. This allows you to adjust the length of the lever yourself.

This lever has a fixed pivot point, i.e. WITHOUT the insert for changing the lever ratio. (In the picture it is the lower lever)
The lever is also designed so that the Schlater unit on the handlebar/throttle grip has no space underneath it. This means that a throttle grip alone works well, but the lever is unsuitable with the usual Schlater unit.
